In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, SsangYong Motor Company has held its 2020 Global Distributor Conference online for the first time.The event took place on the SsangYong Motor YouTube channel at 5pm (KST, Korean Standard Time), 9am (CET, Central European Time) on Friday 6thNovember.
The company holds its global distributor conference every year to strengthen its international network and consolidate its presence in overseas markets, but due to the uncertainty caused by the global pandemic this year, the decision was made to take the event online.
The conference was opened by Byung Tae Yea, CEO of SsangYong, and followed by the introduction of new international partners, sharing overseas business direction, a presentation about best practice by distributors, a reveal of forthcoming new products and a Q&A session. Around 300 people working for distributors in 90 countries around the world joined the event.
The distributors participated actively, motivated to help recover the lost sales this year, and showed great interest in the new models presented, which included the new XLV, face-lifted Rexton and E100, SsangYong’s first EV which is to be released in the first half of next year.
Byung Tae Yeaconcluded the event by telling the audience, “Despite these uncertain times, the company is actively negotiating with a third-party potential investor to help take the business forward, while we continue to prepare for the future through the development of new products which will include electric vehicles.”
