▪ SsangYong sells 13,424 units in October, achieving best sales this year at home and abroad
▪ Domestic sales jump 36.0 percent year-on-year helped by biggest sales of Rexton brands
▪ SsangYong to achieve best quarter sales in Q4, expecting 9th consecutive year of growth at home
SsangYong Motor Company (CEO Johng-Sik Choi; www.kg-mobility.com/en) announced that it sold a total of 13,424 vehicles in October 2018 – 10,082 units in domestic sales and 3,342 in exports including CKD kits.
SsangYong achieved the best sales month this year in October with an increase of 24.9 percenter over October 2017, as the company recorded the highest sales at home and abroad.
In the domestic market, its sales increased 36.0 percent year-on-year helped by the Rexton brands that posted highest ever monthly sales.
The Rexton Sports (export: Musso) sales surged by 139.1 percent to 4,099 units, the biggest monthly sales this year, and it led the company's sales growth.
The company's accumulated domestic sales also shifted from a decrease to an increase thanks to strong sales of the main models. Based on such growth trend, the company has a promising future to achieve its ninth consecutive year of growth at home.
In the overseas market, its exports also recorded the biggest sales with a growth of 0.4 percent from a year earlier as new products expanded the market presence.
The company keeps expanding its global launches of the Musso to the Central and South America from September, so its exports is expected to recover continuously.
Johng-Sik Choi, CEO of SsangYong Motor Company, commented, "We achieved our best monthly sales this year both in the domestic sales and exports by carrying out aggressive sales activities," adding, "We expect to turn into quarterly profit in Q4 with the highest sales this year on a growing trend."
