▪ SsangYong sells 12,916 units in July- 9,823 at home and 3,093 abroad
▪ Domestic sales in July record highest-ever this year thanks to best-selling Rexton Sports
▪ SsangYong aims to grow global sales by increasing production and launching cars in more markets globally
SsangYong Motor Company (CEO Johng-sik Choi; www.kg-mobility.com/en) announced that the company sold a total of 12,916 units in July 2018 – 9,823 units in domestic sales and 3,093 in exports.
SsangYong's sales for July rose 13.2 % compared to sales in July 2017. This upward trend reflects a recovery in domestic sales and exports.
Above all, the company posted best-ever monthly sales in the domestic market with a 13.5 % increase year-on-year helped by strong sales of the Rexton Sports (export: Musso) and G4 Rexton (export: Rexton).
Musso is leading the company's growth domestically, with the largest sales this year. It sold over 4,000 units for second straight month thanks to continuous popularity and an increase in production volume made possible by a new manufacturing system that involved two consecutive daytime shifts.
In the overseas market, the company exports in July grew 12.3 %. This increase was the result of the launch of Musso globally, and the export of Rexton CKD kits to India.
SsangYong is pushing to expand its exports with a plan to establish its first-ever directly managed overseas sales affiliate in Australia.
Johng-sik Choi, CEO of SsangYong Motor Company, commented, "We saw a sales growth at home and abroad in July thanks to strong sales of our main models, especially Musso which broke the monthly sales record again," adding, "We will further expand global sales by launching our models in more markets and increasing the supply of the Musso in order to reduce the back orders."
