Jul.02.2018

▪ SsangYong sells 12,578 units including 9,684 at home and 2,894 abroad in June 2018

▪ SsangYong maintains No.3 in domestic market helped by biggest sales of Musso

▪ SsangYong plans to increase its sales both at home and abroad by increasing supplies

SsangYong Motor Company (CEO Johng-sik Choi; www.kg-mobility.com/en) announced that it sold a total of 12,578 units in June 2018 – 9,684 units in domestic sales and 2,894 in exports.

SsangYong maintained 3rd spot in the domestic market, and its June sales slightly dropped by 9 percent compared to the same month last year.

Domestic sales of Rexton Sports (Export: Musso) broke the record and it contributed to the continuous growth of the company's domestic sales which exceeded 9,000 units for two consecutive months.

Musso's sales surged by 107.7 percent year-on-year and 67.3 percent on an accumulated basis over the same period last year. It exceeded 4,000 units for the first time in June thanks to increased supply due to the consecutive dayshift working system at the plant.

Just as the Tivoli and G4 Rexton (Export: Rexton) have led the small and large SUV markets respectively, Musso is now bringing new vitality to the mid-sized SUV market that demands new changes.

The company's June exports, which have witnessed a 32.4 percent decline year-on-year in Q1 2018, also increased 33.9 percent over June 2017 recovering to a 7.5 percent decline rate on an accumulated basis.

It is expected that its exports will recover faster in the second half of the year as the company strengthens its entry strategy into new export markets such as increasing the volume of the Rexton CKD kits which started shipping to the Indian market from last month.

Johng-sik Choi, CEO of SsangYong Motor Company, commented, "Musso is leading the company's sales growth with its biggest sales performance in succession," adding, "We will further expand global sales by increasing the supply in order to solve the back orders."
