In particular, having the debut stage after the successful completion of the ‘Rexton Trans Eurasia Trail’ starting from July at the SsangYong’s Pyeongtaek Plant made it more meaningful.

One of the Rextons from the Trans Eurasia Trail has been displayed at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show while another Rextons headed for UK for the media launch event at the Blenheim Palace, Oxford making a grand finale of the journey

In the early 2000s, SsangYong has entered European markets with Rexton and has been a main export model since then. The new Rexton was earlier launched in Korean market in May and immediately after launch, it became no. 1 large SUV model leading SUV D/E segment, appealing its transformation in style, performance and features.

The strong and dynamic styling of the new Rexton got the inspiration from the majestic look of the Greek temple Parthenon.

Rexton also provides the highest level of passenger convenience and the largest cargo space in the segment thanks to optimized interior space designing. The largest leg rest area in the segment for the rear and a large interior space ensure highest level of comfort for the passenger while rear boot space can be maximized up to 1,977 litres (when the 2nd row seats double folded, 820 litres with the seats up).

CEO of SsangYong Motor Company Johng-sik Choi commented, "Through the 13,000 km journey, Rexton successfully demonstrated its durability and driving performance, and made its impressive debut on the global stage,” adding, "Along with the facelift model of Tivoli and other models, we will increase our European market sales by strengthening our line-up and fulfilling various customer needs.”
