Ssangyong Motor Company (CEO Johng-sik Choi;www.kg-mobility.com/en) held a European press launch for the Tivoli Diesel and 4WD at Frankfurt between October 14 and October 16, 2015.
Joined by 80 journalists and overseas distributors from 14 countries including Germany, France, U.K, Spain and Norway, a 3-day event consisted of test drive and press presentation.
Johng-sik Choi, CEO of SsangYong Motor, said, “Tivoli has greatly contributed to taking SsangYong brand to a new level. Powered by e-XDi160 diesel engine, Tivoli diesel provides the excellent drivability and fuel efficiency with powerful low-end torque while 4WD model offers a smart 4x4 system, which comes with multi link suspension, distributes power to the front and rear adjusting to the road conditions to secure driving performance and reliability.
Since its launch in Europe in May, Tivoli has been widely appreciated by offering best in class safety including seven airbags -front, side and driver’s knee airbag and using high strength steel (HSS) for 71.4% of its body construction.
For those customers who considers practicality, Tivoli provides pleasant driving with various options, such as heatedㆍventilated seats, six color cluster, and a smart steering system, which has three different steering modes.
Since its launch in Korea, Tivoli has been leading compact SUV market. Overall, Tivoli has recorded over 5,000 units of monthly sales for 6 months in a row globally and its cumulative sales surpassed 40,000 units, driving sales growth of SsangYong.
Moreover, thanks to Tivoli, exports in European market have posted a great increase of 60% year-on-year and in addition to launch of Tivoli diesel and 4WD, SsangYong plans to maintain sales growing phase in European market.
Accordingly, SsangYong recently adjusted global sales target of Tivoli to 60,000 units from 50,000 units to aims to achieve 60,000 this year.
