At the Paris Motor Show, which is celebrating its 79th anniversary this year, SsangYong Motor (CEO and President Hyung-tak Choi;www.kg-mobility.com) will unveil the “C200,” an environmental-friendly compact SUV concept car that will mark a milestone in the company’s plan to expand its lineup as a part of its mid- to long-term strategy.
The new concept car of SsangYong Motor has been named “C200” to convey its characteristics: Compact, City, and Convenience. SsangYong Motor has effectively leveraged its advanced design competencies to create a design that exudes a young and urban image.
The “C200” offers reliable performance by adopting a six-speed manual transmission and a 2,000cc diesel engine with 175 horsepower. It also employs SsangYong Motor’s intelligent cutting-edge four wheel drive technology, thereby realizing optimal driving performance. It is also an environmental-friendly model that satisfies CO2 emissions standards as well as the EURO V, which refers to the latest European environmental regulations. It will set a standard for urban compact SUVs, based on its top-level performance and environment-friendliness.
In addition to the “C200,” SsangYong Motor plans to exhibit vehicles that have been playing a pivotal role in expanding the company’s European market share, including the “Rexton II,” “Kyron,” “Actyon,” “Actyon Sports,” and “Rodius,” in order to widely publicize the high level of competitiveness enjoyed by the current lineup. All exhibited models feature an environment-friendly diesel engine that satisfies the EURO IV regulations, resulting in a substantial reduction in noise, vibration, and exhaust gas. They are recognized as environment-friendly vehicles even in Europe, where the environmental regulations are being strengthened, and are receiving a favorable response in terms of customer satisfaction.
By exhibiting these mass-produced vehicles and unveiling a concept car, SsangYong Motor plans to further strengthen its competitiveness, based on which the company has been successfully expanding its market share in Europe, and raise awareness towards its future strategic vehicles, thereby achieving continuous growth within the European market.
Suk-ho Lim, Managing Director of Overseas sales H.Q. at SsangYong Motor, explained the significance of the unveiling of the concept car and SsangYong Motor’s participation in the Paris Motor Show by saying, “The C200, which will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, is an urban SUV and is the first model of SsangYong Motor to feature a monocoque body based on a newly developed power train.
