SsangYong Motor (www.kg-mobility.com; CEO and President Choi Hyung-tak) announced on July 7 that it held the “2009 Actyon and Actyon Sports Launching Club Party” at a club located in Cheongdam-dong.
Roughly 600 people were invited to the party, whose slogan was “it style, Actyon,” including trendsetters among the so-called 2535 generation (people aged between 25 and 35) who are in line with the unique characteristics and style of the Actyon, key SsangYong Motor customers, and online SsangYong Motor club members. This party, which lasted for around four hours, featured a broad array of unique events that enabled the invited customers to experience the newly launched Actyon and Actyon Sports. It included a face painting event, a fashion show, the “DJ-ing party,” which featured performances by a star DJ, and an exhibition of the Actyon with decals.
SsangYong Motor announced that the launching party was a meaningful attempt made by the company. The party was planned to effectively take a step closer to potential customers of the Actyon and Actyon Sports who have unique personalities, strong opinions, and clearly express themselves by holding a special event that meet their taste.
The new “Actyon CLUB” fully incorporates customer needs by applying a six-speed automatic transmission, which is a global technology trend, in addition to key existing specifications that are popular, such as the sunroof, 18-inch aluminum wheel, EBD ABS, and USB MP3; and by substantially expanding the scope of its standard specifications to include key options in previous models preferred by customers, such as the multimedia navigation, auto light control system, rain-sensing wiper, and solar control glass.
In addition, it is the first vehicle in its class to acquire the low pollution certification as an environment-friendly vehicle that applies the Catalyzed Diesel Particulate Filter (CDPF), a device used to reduce exhaust gas emissions. Owners of the vehicle can therefore enjoy financial benefits because they are exempted from paying the environmental improvement fund for five years.
Managing Director Kim Geun-tak in charge of global marketing at SsangYong Motor said, “We are expecting an increase in sales as we have achieved a higher level of competitiveness by meeting the specific needs of target customers in terms of price and considerably expanding the scope of standard specifications to include what used to be options highly preferred by customers.”
