SsangYong Motor's (www.kg-mobility.com) CEO and President Hyung-Tak Choi carried out a "2008 CEO field visit and field report on outstanding improvement cases" with regards to field improvement activities at the Pyeongtaek plant on April 23.

The "CEO field visit and field report on outstanding improvement cases" has been carried out twice a year (first and second half) since last year. The '2008 CEO field visit and field report on outstanding improvement cases' was the third event and was participated by roughly 30 officials, including President Hyung-Tak Choi and Vice President Wan-Yong Chung of the Production HQ. The management, including President Choi, took a look around the production site for around four hours. They shook hands with every single employee at the production site and encouraged them by saying, "Your safety and health are most important, so please be careful at all times."

In addition, twelve teams under production-related departments gave presentations on the implementation status of key tasks in relation to outstanding improvement cases, account books on cost reductions, as well as best improvement cases. A comprehensive evaluation was made on ideas, creativity, quality, and team effort (number of submissions) to choose an outstanding team, which was rewarded.

The '2008 CEO field visit and field report on outstanding improvement cases' was carried out as part of a program aimed at raising the morale of employees and strengthening the organization’s performance. This event is being conducted regularly to boost efficiency in work and creativity by having the CEO give words of encouragement and reward employees for field improvement activities.

Through the event, SsangYong Motor aims to present an opportunity for the company's top management and field leaders to share information. Another purpose is to raise the sense of loyalty and pride among the employees by encouraging them for their efforts in carrying out improvement activities, thereby fully building an exemplary culture on the field.

During the '2008 CEO field visit and field report on outstanding improvement cases,' CEO and President Hyung-Tak Choi said, "The outstanding improvement activities, which we have been carrying out since last year, have reached a certain level. I reguest all managing supervisors in each team to continue to make continuous efforts in order to reduce various defects and losses on the manufacturing site so that we can deliver higher quality products to the customers."
