Husqvarna Racing's Troy Herfoss is all geared up to run at the front of the field this weekend at the second & third round double header of the Ssangyong Australian Supermoto Championship in Newcastle.
Herfoss who had an unfortunate relapse of his wrist injury at the opening round at Eastern Creek has made a full recovery and is set to have a strong performance this weekend onboard his factory Husqvarna SMR 450.
"I am looking forward to this weekend as my wrist is now fully recovered and feeling fantastic. I have been doing quite a bit of Enduro riding last week with my new Husqvarna Racing team mate Damian Smith. I feel fit and extremely confident with my riding, as I have been dicing with Damo all week in pouring rain up here (Gold Coast,)" said Herfoss last week.
While Herfoss was up on the Gold Coast late last week, he had been keeping a watchful eye on the preparation of his race bike for rounds two and three this weekend.
"The Husqvarna Racing Team has put in a huge effort preparing my bike for the two rounds this weekend, I would like to especially thank Vic Martin for this as my bike looks fantastic and should prove to be extremely fast. With the double header this weekend, I am confident that I should come away from Newcastle with a win and some valuable championship points," Herfoss said.
Adam Cini will be racing in both classes on board his SMR 450 & SMR 510. Cini who amazed the crowd at the first round at Eastern Creek is determined to continue his good form and gain some valuable championship points in the premier S2 Class. Cini is currently placed in third position on 38 points behind Stuart Bennett and Rodney Taplin both on 47 points.
Husky Chix rider Rebecca Bateman who had an incident at the second round of the Sunshine State Motocross Championship two weeks ago should be set to ride her Husqvarna Racing SMR 250 if she gets the all clear this week for a suspected broken scaphoid. Bateman is currently second in the women's championship three points behind Kristy Tripp.
The main racing gets underway around 1pm on Saturday with qualifying action for all classes commencing from 9 am with the S2 superpole on at 1.15 pm. For additional information please log ontowww.supermotonsw.com.au
